Update on macrolide–lincosamide–streptogramin, ketolide, and oxazolidinone resistance genes

摘要: This Minireview summarizes the changes in field of bacterial resistance to macrolide, lincosamide, streptogramin, ketolide, and oxazolidinone (MLSKO) antibiotics since nomenclature review 1999. A total 66 genes conferring this group has now been identified includes 13 new rRNA methylase genes, four ATP-binding transporter coding for efflux proteins, five inactivating enzymes. During same time period, 73 genera carrying known 87 and/or have recognized. The number bacteria with mutations 23S rRNA, L4 L22 ribosomal resulting reduced susceptibility some members MLSKO also increased nine different Gram-positive 10 Gram-negative genera. New conjugative transposons along an heavy metal identified. These mobile elements may play a role continued spread into species, genera, ecosystems.
