摘要: The neonate distress cry, which displays a similar acoustic structure across range of mammalian species, is highly effective in attracting, even compelling, parental care. However, if this cry defective, as found human and rodent neonates with poor neurobehavioral function, the signal less enticing? Using playback recordings ewe's own co-twins stimuli two choice test, we compared preference each sheep dam for features lamb calls to assess impact quality on maternal response. results study indicate that vocalizations parameters reflecting vocal fold engagement arousal were likely be preferred by their dam. Additionally, these associated delayed initiation infant survival behavior suggestive subtle cognitive deficit; support possibility that, deer rodents, ovine within specific fundamental frequency may well trigger optimal behavior. This research has important implications understanding failed maternal-young interactions ungulate other verifying standardization used studies.
