摘要: Abstract : An analogy between damage inflicted by a single point hard particle impact and inserting flaw of known dimensions in static tensile coupon is discussed. The results suggest that residual strength can be predicted as function kinetic energy executing two experiments, test on an unflawed specimen previously subjected to impact. model appears accurate for velocities which are less than the penetration velocity. For above complete penetration, identical with hole having same diameter impacting particle. Comparison various materials indicates composite strongly influenced strain failure reinforcement.
