摘要: Air quality in Auckland is generally within the na tional guidelines. But at t imes, especially winter, he city suffers from air pollution pheno mena such a s b rown haze, which thought associated with h igh levels of nitrogen oxides. The e ffects meteorological conditions on local are quan titatively assessed da ily basis by determining relationship between concentrations oxides (NO and NO2) several variables for winter months, 1990 to 1996. Strong southwesterly winds, prevalent flow pattern over region, good due enhan ced d ispersion. Calm, cold lead build-up pollution. Meteorological can explain more variances NO (up 65%) than NO2 26%). For different emission source conditions, consistent levels, but significantly suggesting other factors may be important.
