Studies of laser-induced fluorescence in fast beams of Sr + and Ba + ions

摘要: Studies of the LIF radiation from beams Sr+ and Br+ ions have been used to measure lifetimes 4f 5p levels Sr II, 4f, 6p 7p Ba II. The obtained for II are in good agreement with previous measurements. fine structure 4f2F degrees term has resolved first time, observed splitting being -1.30+or-0.06 cm-1. energies two measured as 60991.3 cm-1 (j=5/2) 60990.0 (j=7/2). decay curves recorded using a detector sensitive visible region showed very strong growing-in cascading, demonstrating that not necessarily single-exponential high-lying levels. lifetime results compared Coulomb approximation RHF calculations where available, latter including semi-empirical polarization corrections.
