Assessing the Scientific Research Productivity of the Palestinian Higher Education Institutions: A Case Study at An-Najah National University, Palestine

摘要: An-Najah National University (ANNU) is a Palestinian university that was established more than 35 years ago. The objective of this study to do bibliometric assessment research output, which describes the growth, contribution, and impact carried out by faculty members, researchers, or students ANNU in past years. data used for were retrieved from Scopus database. Bibliometric analysis identify pattern publication, relative growth rate, authorship pattern, collaborative measures, author’s productivity, most prolific authors, journals. A total 791 published documents ANNU. Seventeen (2.1%) Acta Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, whereas 16 (2.0%) Journal Environmental Science Health, Part A: Engineering, 10 (1.3%) International Clinical Pharmacology Therapeutics. Six hundred one (76%) journals listed Web Knowledge. number citations ANNU, at time (November 19, 2013), 4,553, with an average 5.8 per document. identified 384 (25.8%) 59 countries as ANNU–foreign collaborators. Research output showed steady over high certain scientific disciplines, lagging others. Future emphasis on joint research, international collaboration, publishing indexed needed.
