摘要: Motor protein motion on biopolymers can be described by models related to the totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP). Inspired experiments of kinesin-4 motors antiparallel microtubule overlaps, we analyze a model incorporating TASEP two lanes with binding kinetics and lane switching. We determine steady-state motor density profiles using phase-plane analysis mean field equations kinetic Monte Carlo simulations. focus density-density phase plane, where find an analytic solution model. By studying phase-space flows, model's fixed points their changes parameters. Phases previously identified for single-lane occur low switching rate between lanes. predict multiple coexistence due additional that appear as increases: moves from higher-density lower-density lane, causing local jamming creating domain walls. diagram both symmetric general boundary conditions.
