摘要: OBJECTIVE: To develop a method of measuring the magnitude, direction and point application patellofemoral force (PFF), directly non-invasively in three dimensions. DESIGN AND METHODS: The compressive PFF is replaced exactly with tensile applied to front patella. are then measured. technique was six normal knees mounted 6 degree freedom rig quadriceps tendon tension (QTF) balance flexing load simulate weight bearing. RESULTS: greater than previous more invasive vitro studies but results correlated well recent theoretical analyses. At 20 degrees knee flexion 75% QTF. It increased 100% QTF at 60 remained this level higher angles flexion. lateral vector small compared sagittal plane became negligible beyond patella moved proximally medially CONCLUSIONS: A new reliable dimensions has been developed. RELEVANCE: described for vitro. non-invasive nature makes it useful studying effect on simulated pathological conditions, surgical procedures different types replacement.
