摘要: These practice parameters are an update of the previously published recommendations regarding use oral appliances in treatment snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Oral (OAs) indicated for patients with mild to moderate OSA who prefer them continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, or do not respond to, appropriate candidates for, fail attempts CPAP. Until there is higher quality evidence suggest efficacy, CPAP whenever possible severe before considering OAs. should be fitted by qualified dental personnel trained experienced overall care health, temporomandibular joint, occlusion associated structures. Follow-up polysomnography attended cardiorespiratory (Type 3) sleep study needed verify may when symptoms worsen recur. Patients treated return follow-up office visits specialist at regular intervals monitor patient adherence, evaluate device deterioration maladjustment, health structures integrity occlusion. Regular follow up also assess signs worsening OSA. Research define characteristics more clearly OA acceptance, success, adherence needed.
