摘要: Epidermal parasitic skin diseases (EPSD) occur in most countries and cause a considerable health economic burden, particularly the tropics subtropics. The aim of this study was to assess analyse peer-reviewed literature on EPSD humans. results serve as an indicator extent scientific community, authorities, international agencies interact with problem that is commonly associated poverty poor hygiene. A bibliometric analysis methodology used. Scopus database used retrieve documents about for period (1967–2017). focused scabies, tungiasis, pediculosis, hookworm-related cutaneous larva migrans (HrCLM), myiasis, strongyloidiasis. Documents specifically explicitly discuss animals, aquatic organisms, birds were excluded. In total, 4186 retrieved. fluctuated growth publications past five decades found. retrieved received 43 301 citations, average 10.3 citations per article h-index 74. keywords “scabies” encountered keyword followed by “head lice” “pediculosis”. active journal involved publishing articles International Journal Dermatology (164; 3.9%). Researchers from 93 different published articles. USA led 735 (17.6%) documents, UK (274; 6.5%), Germany (259; 6.2%). terms institutions, Charite – Universitatsmedizin Berlin field 78 (1.9%) publications, Universidade Federal do Ceara Brazil 52 (1.2%) publications. Research scabies pediculosis dominated research expense HrCLM, There underrepresentation subtropics despite being common these areas. This could possibly be explained presence limited number non-English journals database. collaborations networking should strengthened help advance prioritize EPSD.
