摘要: In order to complete the fragmentary knowledge of natural history atherosclerosis, authors examined coronary arteries 403 captive and 146 wild vertebrates living in freedom, as well aortas 134 them. 88 animals 51 free individuals, lipidogram, total cholesterol, beta-cholesterol cholesterol/phospholipid ratio were also determined. this material, spontaneous atherosclerosis always developed already impaired by intimal sclerosis, sclerosis seems be a basic condition for atherogenesis. Lipid deposits found intima 29 per cent aortas, but was present only 2 specimens.
