Nonlinear energy-loss straggling of slow ions in solids

摘要: Energy-loss straggling of ions with v\ensuremath{\ll}${v}_{F}$ in an electron gas has been evaluated from phase shifts determined nonlinear, density-functional calculations. These results differ markedly those obtained linear theory and show oscillations increasing nuclear charge which can be correlated the scattering properties electrons at Fermi level.
