A Study of the Relationships Between Empowerment, Decision-Making Style and Job Satisfaction in Female Middle Managers within Ontario's University Registrarial Units

摘要: An emerging body of literature has sought to explore the role variables such as decisionmaking styles and structural empowerment in predicting job satisfaction various populations contexts. This study aimed advance this knowledge by questioning predictive ability decision-making female registrarial middle managers Ontario universities. It was hypothesized that when feel empowered, dependent on their style, they experience high satisfaction. online survey tool comprised Conditions for Workplace Effectiveness Questionnaire (CWEQ-I), General Decision-Making Scale (GDMS), Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS), each employing Likert-like scales, distributed 17 university registrars at institutions. To enhance clarity participants, some wording used changed questionnaire (i.e., “current state hospital" "the current university”). 20 universities were contacted with 85% indicating willingness participate facilitating data collection process. From participating institutions, a total 29 responses returned 22 (28.95%) being valid based researcher’s criteria. A 28.95% response rate impacts level confidence findings. correlational research design examine resulting data.
