摘要: Mass spectrometry is an important technique for analyzing proteins and other biomolecular compounds in biological samples. Each of the vendors these mass spectrometers uses a different proprietary binary output file format, which has hindered data sharing development open source software downstream analysis. The solution been to develop, with full participation academic researchers as well hardware vendors, XML-based format encoding spectrometer files, then write use this archiving, sharing, processing. This chapter presents various components information available mzML. In addition XML schema that defines structure, controlled vocabulary provides clear terms definitions spectral metadata, semantic validation rules mapping allows mzML validator insure document complies one several levels requirements. Complete documentation example files may be uniformly implemented. At time release, there already existed implementations have committed supporting their products.
