摘要: We propose an in vitro eye-tectum preparation enabling whole-cell recordings of tectal neurons combined with visual stimulation. The were made from the tectum, which was cut order to facilitate access cell bodies located inner layers. remains viable for up 5 h while routine prolonged could be obtained neurons. Cutting tectum did not disrupt endogenous synaptic circuits and sensory inputs allowing examination functional neuronal responses evoked stimuli. Recordings layer 6 indicated that shaped by a mixture excitation inhibition generated input local network. Visually also activate fast dendritic currents. Thus, brings about benefits vivo without effects anesthetics influence processing inputs. Using proposed preparation, network circuit function, operates during central input, can studied as well role intrinsic properties detection information.
