This then presented to child in one four contexts: (1) as reward; (2) noncontingently, paired with adult attention; (3) nonsocial context; (4) at time. 16 children participated condition. Half condition received sweet half nonsweet food. Results indicated that presenting rewards or them noncontingently attention produced significant increases preference, persisted least 6 weeks following termination presentations. In contrast, no consistent changes preference noted when context results suggest which are is extremely important young preferences.
