摘要: Abstract A subset of asthma patients accounts for a disproportionate amount health care resources through repeat visits. retrospective analysis emergency department (ED) billing and admission databases was performed to assess the value visit count as an indicator future utilization. The found have direct linear relationship with both ED visits inpatient asthma. Children 2 in 1997 had substantial (26.9%) risk returning 1998 study period, 6.6% admission. who visited 3 or more times than 52%, 12% this highest group were admitted hospital at least once during period. Once annual is achieved, there can be little controversy “high utilizer” label. increase warrants consideration easily obtainable, objective marker identify high-risk children clinical purposes. Further research needed.
