One week eradication regimen for Helicobacter pylori.

摘要: Abstract Although Helicobacter pylori is both a frequent cause of gastritis and an important factor in duodenal ulcer recurrence, no treatment regimen exists that completely safe effective. We have studied short eradication tripotassium dicitrato bismuthate 120 mg four times daily amoxycillin 500 for seven days with metronidazole 400 five three (days 5-7). 106 patients peptic ulceration non-ulcer dyspepsia, who were also infected H pylori, entered into the study. was successfully eradicated 76/106 (72%) (median follow-up 9·3 months). The rate higher among metronidazole-sensitive (40/43, 93%). In 17/30 whom failed, pretreatment metronidazole-resistant strains subsequently isolated. Side-effects mild, commonest (24/106, 24%) being taste disturbance metronidazole. A one-week safe, effective, cheap, well-tolerated pylori.
