摘要: Using information derived from a combination of effusion and mass‐spectrometric techniques at high temperature, the atomization energies free for reactions Gen(gas)=n(Ge gas) (n=2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) have been determined. The values energy as obtained variation with temperature (second law thermodynamics method) are in kilocalories per mole: they 65, 149, 238, 321, 407, 481 n 2, 7, respectively. A comparison these calculated third (absolute entropy assuming that geometric configuration molecules (n>2) is either linear chain or cyclic structure indicates former to be preferred.The bond‐dissociation (process Gen=Gen−1+Ge) second 75, 86, 83, 89, 84, 65 kcal/mole
