摘要: The value of including dimensional elements in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Mental Disorders (DSM) has been recognized for decades. Nevertheless, no proposals have made introducing classification diagnostic system a valid feasible manner. As an initial step this endeavor, authors suggest severity ratings to extant categories criteria sets. Although not without difficulties, would begin determine feasibility address some limitations purely categorical approach (e.g., failure capture individual differences disorder severity, clinically significant features subsumed by other disorders or falling below conventional DSM thresholds). utility incorporating broader dimensions temperament personality systems beyond fifth edition is also discussed.
