摘要: Abstract In the present paper, study focuses on effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant release extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) followed by pretreatment with a thermophilic protease-secreting bacterial strain WAS (waste activated sludge). This in turn enhanced subsequent anaerobic biodegradability. The substances were released using SDS (0.03 g/g SS dosage) to stimulate pretreatment. results indicated that deflocculated (EPS and pretreated bacteria) sludge showed higher Suspended Solids (SS) reduction about 27% Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) solubilization 24%, whereas flocculated (pretreated bacteria alone) 18% COD 16%. biogas production potential deflocculated, flocculated, raw (untreated) samples was found be 2.5211 L/(gVS), 1.7677 L/(gVS), 0.6140 L/(gVS), respectively. As result, EPS disintegration production.
