摘要: Anti-inflammatory long-chain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3-LC-PUFAs) are both neuroprotective and have antidepressive effects. However the influence of dietary supplemented n-3-LC-PUFAs on inflammation-related cell death proliferation after middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAo)-induced stroke is unknown. We previously demonstrated that anxiety-like hyperactive locomotor behaviors reduced in n-3-LC-PUFA-fed MCAo animals. Thus present study, male hooded Wistar rats were exposed to or sham surgeries examined behaviorally 6 weeks later, prior euthanasia examination lesion size, dentate gyrus, cornu ammonis region hippocampus ipsilesional hemispheres, thalamus contralesional hemispheres. Markers genesis degeneration hemisphere did not differ between surgery diet groups post MCAo. Dietary supplementation with n-3-LC-PUFA decreased increased thalamic hemisphere. MCAo–associated positively correlated reported these These results suggest anti-inflammatory appears cellular protective effects rat, which may affect behavioral outcomes.
