摘要: The objective of this experimental investigation is to produce a metal matrix composite (MMC) using pure aluminum as base material reinforced with one the following ceramic additives each time (alumina Al2O3, silicon carbide SiC, and magnesium oxide MgO) different volume fractions. Liquid state mixing technique was employed for constituent. Temperature checked frequently while thermocouple. Degasser added content minimize gas bubbles at final cast. After melting mixing, melts were poured in metallic mould then we got cast from which specimens various tests prepared. Complete between Al by taking parts (from upper middle edge, middle, lower edge subjected microscopic observation. Microstructure examination microanalysis carried out optical microscope scanning electron equipped energy dispersive x-ray analysis, moreover tensile mechanical properties determined case. The addition MgO & Al2O3 particulates into alloy increased yield strength, ultimate strength hardness, decreased elongation (ductility) composites comparison those matrix. Increasing wt% their strengthening effect but SiC most effective particulates, higher grain size reduction. On other hand, it decreases ductility toughness.
