摘要: Nurses must assume a leadership role in confronting inequitable access to health care. This imperative is realizable through contributions the knowledge of discipline, reflecting on profession's mandate for social justice and elimination inequities, as well embracing diversity nursing's fundamental patterns knowing. Emancipatory knowing involves critically examining social, political, institutional structures uncover injustices inequities disrupt status quo, asking critical questions. Postcolonial theory, aligned with these foundational principles, can be used answer such questions, thus contributing advancement disciplinary knowledge.
