摘要: Abstract Background: Helicobacter pylori produces ammonia in the stomach from urea. The present study was undertaken to clarify whether has an etiological role H. pylori-associated gastric mucosal atrophy. Methods: Ammonia at 0.01% administered as drinking water for 8 weeks and cell migration rate proliferation were investigated rat stomach. Results: Long-term administration of 4–8 decreased thickness antrum but not body. Acceleration preceded occurrence Labeling indices both antral body mucosa significantly increased all ammonia-treated groups, compared with those control group. In antrum, proliferative zone enlarged atrophy developed, whereas, mucosa, enlargement occurred despite absence Conclusion: accelerates epithelial migration, especially leading occurs during development
