摘要: The osmoregulatory system is well developed in the brain. Osmolytes contribute to maintenance of cell volume and cellular functions without changing intracellular ionic composition. Myo-inositol regarded as one major osmolytes In present study, we investigated changes expressions sodium myo-inositol cotransporter (SMIT) mRNA brain acute hypernatremic rats by in-situ hybridization Northern blot methods. Under moderate conditions, SMIT level increased markedly at 1 h returned almost control levels 3 h, accordance with plasma Na+ concentrations. Especially, distinct increases expression were observed granule cells glial cerebellum. These findings indicate that plays an important role osmoregulation, especially early stages hypernatremia
