摘要: Aims Regional myocardial fibrosis detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using late enhancement (LE) indicates an unfavorable prognosis. We investigated in a prospective study whether regional non-ischaemic hypertrophic myocardium can also be ultrasonic strain-rate based on specific visual features of the deformation traces. Methods and results This diagnostic aimed to define left ventricular fibrotic segments 30 patients with cardiomyopathy (n ¼ 10), severe aortic valve stenosis Fabry disease 10 healthy controls. MRI (¼deformation imaging) was performed all controls detect LE. In total, 42 showed LE according criteria. Using imaging, positive displayed characteristic pattern consisting first peak early systole followed rapid fall strain rate close zero second during isovolumetric relaxation. ‘double sign’ never seen However, it without These ‘false-positive’ belonged who often develop fast progressing fibrosis. follow-up after 2 years (available for 6/10 segments), these had developed Conclusion The tracings seems reliable tool diagnose
