摘要: Abstract The relationships between light regime, photosynthesis, growth and depth distribution of a temperate seagrass, Zostera marina L. (eelgrass), were investigated in subtidal eelgrass meadow near Woods Hole, MA. seasonal patterns which the quantum irradiance exceeded compensation point ( H comp ) saturation sat for photosynthesis determined. Along with respiration rates, these used to predict carbon balances monthly throughout year. Gross peaked late-summer, but net spring (May), due high rates at summer temperatures. Predictions correlated situ study site reports from other locations. maximum limit was related , minimum annual average (12.3 h) survival Maximum limits predicted various extinction coefficients relationship Secchi disc established. averaged over year approximates eelgrass. This may be applicable sites seagrass species.
