摘要: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most frequent and deadliest tumors worldwide. Only few patients are amenable to surgery due late HCC diagnosis, alternative treatments do not significantly improve patient prognosis when tumor unresectable. Thus, investigation biology required identify new targets for early chemoprevention, treatment. To study molecular events leading liver malignant transformation progression, a number mouse models have been generated. Here, we highlight some genetically engineered that proved be valuable tools pathogenesis human cancer. Also, briefly describe similarities between at level with emphasis on advantages disadvantages each model. Although additional work required, data show provided significant contribution in our understanding HCC. In particular, allowed step-by-step analysis multiple stages carcinogenesis identification underlying alterations signal transduction pathways, cell cycle, epigenetic genetic mechanisms involved. Furthermore, information obtained from these will help design new, more specific effective therapeutic approaches against
