摘要: Recent studies of the molecular structure and chemical bonding organic monolayers on metal surfaces are reviewed. Most research is concentrated alkenes alkynes adsorbed platinum rhodium. The applications low-energy electron diffraction, high-resolution energy loss spectroscopy, thermal desorption spectroscopy provided most structural information in that utilized single-crystal surfaces. Hydrocarbon exhibit a rich diverse chemistry may be correlated to analogous organometallic clusters. Alkylidyne (==C(CH/sub 2/)/sub n/CH/sub 3/) predominates near 300 K Pt Rh although variety different conformations found. Perhaps pronounced characteristic temperature-dependent variation their bonding. also varies markedly across periodic table; much stronger for early transition metals (W, Fe) weaker Ag Cu than Rh. These temperature- metal-dependent trends altered some extent when considering crystallographic planes surface. Finally possible directions this field take discussed.
