摘要: Published documentation of insect pests and pathogens associated with Alnus species in Africa is very scarce. We surveyed damaging insects pathogens, arthropod natural enemies on acuminata A. nepalensis Kabale Mbale districts, Uganda between March 1999 August 2000 order to identify the range relative abundance arthropods species. Frequently encountered included Apis mellifera, Apion globulipenne, a Systates sp. (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), Phymateus viridipes, Lobotrachelus Coloborrtics corticina some Chrysomelidae. Some such as Aphis fabae, Parastictococcus multispinosus Cacopsylla (Homoptera: Psyllidae) were observed feeding other agroforestry tree and/or crops although they generally occurred at low population intensities. Spiders parasitic Hymenoptera most common enemies. Diseases more severe nurseries than field. Damping-off caused by Fusarium oxysporum, Septoria brown leaf spot stem canker serious diseases Alnus. The array indicates potential danger cultivation adoption for continues expand country. In view increasing demand Uganda, regular pest monitoring appropriate control strategies are necessary.
