摘要: Lichenan is a linear glucan of {1→3, 1→4}-β-glycosidic bonds in ratio 1:2 that originates from the lichen Cetraria islandica. at 5-1000 μg/ml exhibited antiviral activity against mechanically-transmitted viruses different taxonomic groups. The was demonstrated by inhibition symptom development and virus accumulation greenhouse-grown Nicotiana tabacum (four cultivars), N. benthamiana glutinosa. In plants cv. 'Xanthi-nc', which react hypersensitively response to TMV infection, lichenan reduced number, but not size, necrotic lesions both, when added purified virions or naked viral RNA. Partly hydrolized representing degrees polymerization (DP) 6-30, 30-60, 60-190, > 190, number local systemic infections same degree as unchanged glucan. effect restricted leaf-area application. Depending on time application, strongest achieved directly inoculum. Post-infectionally, it inhibitory only up 3 h post-inoculation, indicating early events replication were affected. Viral caused results plant-specific protection, does function rustica. Although less than lichenan, there other mixed-linkage β-glucans (schizophyllan, pachyman, laminaran, barley-β-glucan) causing effects. contrast, pustulan well glucans α-configuration (amylose, dextran, nigeran, pullulan) ineffective.
