摘要: Decreased voluntary wheel running has recently been proposed as a preclinical pain measure for inflammatory pain, but whether this reflects evoked by use of the affected limbs is unknown. To assess role inflammation site determinant measure, complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA), formalin, or equivolume vehicle was subcutaneously injected into plantar surface hind paws (bilateral) L1 dorsum dermatome (leaving unaffected) male Sprague Dawley rats. CFA-induced paw mechanical allodynia (P < .001) did not correlate with reduced running. Intraplantar formalin attenuate running, despite eliciting robust licking/writhing/flinching behavior and (P < .001). Subcutaneous CFA, induced (P < .001), neither attenuated That decreased implies that rather than supraspinal processing independent site. Furthermore, results suggest interpretation data cannot simply be explained correlation allodynia. Perspective Whether dependent on We show intraplantar, dorsum, CFA suppressed formalin-induced had no effect These likely limbs.
