We compared fruiting data derived simultaneously from fruit-traps placed on the ground and canopy-surveyed plots in a terra firme rain forest, Colombian Amazonia. Values were higher than fruittrap estimates. Fruiting patterns obtained throughout both methods not correlated. Our results showed that fruit-trap method does accurately reflect occurring at highest levels of while canopysurveyed provided quantitative qualitative information canopy fruit production, each species contribution.
