摘要: Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are widespread compounds that accumulating in polar regions canalise through trophic webs. Although several dozens of studies have been carried out the last decades, information is generally scattered across a large number literature sources. This does not allow an efficient synthesis and constraints our understanding on how address future monitoring plans environmental conservation strategies Polar Regions with respect to POPs. Thus, here, we present outcome systematic map (SM) scope, screen chart evidences from dealing POPs regions. The SMs strive produce rigorous guidelines recently proposed as useful effective tools summarise growing bodies research seek reduce bias increase reliability, particularly case high priority controversial topics. Our SM was based 125 studies, focussing most studied target species among those listed International Union for Conservation Nature's Red List (IUCN List). To facilitate analysis evidence, were classified into Accumulation Monitoring (accounting POP sub-organismal, functional population levels) Food Web approaches contaminants food webs). allowed us assess visualise, set both knowledge gaps gluts lastly list provided Regions.
