摘要: Gram-positive pili are known to play a role in bacterial adhesion epithelial cells and the formation of biofilm microbial communities. In present study we undertook functional characterization pilus ancillary protein 1 (AP1_M6) from Streptococcus pyogenes isolates expressing FCT-1 variant, be strong formers. Cell binding assays using S. in-frame deletion mutants, Lactococcus heterologous purified recombinant AP1_M6, indicated that this pilin is cell adhesin also involved formation. Moreover, show AP1_M6 establishes homophilic interactions mediate inter-bacterial contact, possibly promoting colonization target form three-dimensional microcolonies. Finally, knockout mutants were less virulent mice, indicating implicated GAS systemic infection.
