A UK Perspective on Worldwide Inadequacies in Palliative Care Training: A Short Postgraduate Course Is Proposed

摘要: A chronological literature review illustrates how undergraduate and postgraduate education training in the care of dying bereaved is inadequate worldwide. This despite foundation modern hospice movement United Kingdom 1967 its wider dissemination as a specialty 1985. situation has implications for those doctors working both primary secondary care, this paper describes 3-day course which been successfully run West Midlands, UK, since 1997 family physicians training. pre-course survey 250, with response rate 54%, 2003 revealed that 100% respondents felt they needed further training, 51.5% said had no previous palliative care.
