摘要: [1] We estimate slip rates on major active faults in southern California using a block model constrained by Global Positioning System measurements of interseismic deformation. The includes the effects rotation and elastic strain accumulation consistent with simple earthquake cycle. Our estimates right-lateral strike-slip rate San Andreas fault vary at least factor 5, from high 35.9 ± 0.5 mm/yr Carrizo Plain to low 5.1 1.5 through Bernadino segment. Shortening across Puente Hills Thrust left-lateral Raymond Hill are both thickening escape tectonics Los Angeles Basin. Discrepancies between geodetic geologic along Jacinto faults, as well Eastern Shear Zone, may be explained temporal change system behavior. We find no substantial evidence for long-term postseismic relaxation infer that viscosity lower crust/upper mantle relatively (η > 1019 Pa s).
