摘要: Languages vary typologically in their lexicalization of PATH motion (Talmy 1991). Furthermore, patterns are argued to aect syntactic packaging at the level clause (e.g., Slobin 1996b) and tend transfer from a first (L1) second language (L2) acquisition Cadierno Ruiz 2006). Crosslinguistic developmental evidence suggests, then, that typological preferences for expression highly robust features language. The current study examines robustness en- coding by investigating (1) whether Japanese follows identified other verb-framed languages like Spanish, (2) es- tablished an L1 can change after L2. performance native speakers with intermediate-level knowledge English was compared monolingual English. Results showed followed basic lexicali- zation typical languages, but dierent realizations within clause. Moreover, Japa- nese displayed mixed lex- icalization expressed significantly more information per than either group monolinguals. Implications typology discussed.
