Implementing psychosocial programming at a level 1 trauma center: results from a 5-year period

摘要: Background The primary goal of the present study is to describe psychosocial support services provided at our institution and evolution such programming through time. This will also report demographics injury patterns patients using available resources. Methods Trauma Recovery Services (TRS) a social psychological program that provides resources families admitted hospital. It includes number different as emotional coaching from licensed counselors, educational materials, peer mentorship trauma survivors, monthly groups, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening for victims crime. Patients were prospectively recorded by hired staff, volunteers students who engaged in distributing programming. Demographics characteristics retrospectively gathered patient’s medical records. Results From May 2013 December 2018, total 4977 discrete used TRS an urban level 1 center. During period, 31.4% 15 640 adult exposed this increased 7.2% 60.1% 2018. period 5.5 years, 3317 had ‘direct contact’ (coaching and/or materials) 1827 least one visit. average visits was 2.7 per patient (range: 2–15). Of 114 attended groups over 4 55 (48%) more than session, with 3.9 2–10) patient. After establishment PTSD Victims Crime Advocacy Program (VOCARP) 2017, 482 screened 974 VOCARP during 2 substantial growth 2017 Conclusions Hospital-provided aimed educating patients, expanding networks bolstering resiliency popular institution, nearly 5000 accessing years.
