摘要: Background Depression is an independent risk factor for myocardial infarction (MI). Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) may reduce this through attenuation of serotonin-mediated platelet activation in addition to treatment depression itself. Methods and Results A case-control study first MI smokers 30 65 years age was conducted among all 68 hospitals 8-county area during a 28-month period. Cases were patients hospitalized with MI. Approximately 4 community control subjects per case randomly selected from the same geographic using random digit dialing. Detailed information regarding use antidepressant medication as well other clinical demographic data obtained by telephone interview. total 653 cases 2990 participated. After adjustment, multivariable logistic regression, age, sex, race, education, exercise, quantity smoked day, body mass index, aspirin use, family history MI, number ...
