摘要: Abstract The behavior of a small-scale flow alkaline fuel cell (AFC) built-up for on-site production HO2− using commercial gas-diffusion electrodes has been studied. It produces spontaneous current due to the oxidation H2 H2O at H2-diffusion anode and reduction O2 O2-diffusion cathode, while fresh 1.0–6.0 mol dm−3 KOH electrolyte 15.0–45.0 °C is injected through it. Under circulation HO2−+KOH solutions in open circuit, AFC behaves as two-electron reversible system. When it shorted with an external load (Rext), steady voltage–current density curves are found. use O2/N2 mixtures fed cathode causes loss its performance, being required supply pure yield maximum electrogeneration. productivity increase raising OH− concentration, temperature pressure fed. At Rext=0.10 Ω, efficiency close 100% obtained, densities >100 mA cm−2 achieved 1.0 45.0 °C higher concentrations 25.0 °C. can work under optimum conditions up 6.0 possible industrial applications.
