摘要: Τhis chapter is aimed at providing current knowledge on the association of surface texture with machining, along recent advances in characterization and evaluation. Various parameters, adopted by ISO standards or not, are described their distinctive power considered. Arithmetic statistical random process functions serve as measures for rendering in-height inlength characteristics allow multiparameter analysis surface, something quite necessary under high requirements precision operation. Theoretical models roughness parameters experimental trends regard to machining conditions discussed. Isotropy machined surfaces also considered methods typology finally
