摘要: Polysialic acid (polySia, PSA) is a unique and functionally important glycan, particularly in vertebrate brains. It involved higher brain functions such as learning, memory, social behaviors. Recently, an association between several genetic variations single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of ST8SIA2/STX, one two polysialyltransferase genes vertebrates, psychiatric disorders, schizophrenia (SZ), bipolar disorder (BD), autism spectrum (ASD), was reported based on candidate gene approaches genome-wide studies among normal mental patients. critical importance to determine if the mutations SNPs ST8SIA2 lead impairments structure function polySia, which final product ST8SIA2. To date, however, only few forward-directed have been conducted. In addition, molecular mechanisms underlying polySia-involved remain unknown, although polySia shown anti-adhesive effect. this report, we review relationships disorders and/or ST8SIA2, describe new regulator neurologically active molecules, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) dopamine, are deeply disorders.
