摘要: There are reports of food borne illness associated with the consumption fruit juices at several places in India and elsewhere. Hence a rapid review street vended was undertaken to assess safety for human as possible sources bacterial pathogens. A total 52 samples were analyzed dominant pathogen recorded E.coli (40%), followed by Ps. aeruginosa (25%), Salmonella spp. (16%), Proteus (9%), S. aureus (6%), Klebsiella (3%) Enterobacter (1%). The highest contamination observed sweet lemon (35%), pineapple (29%), pomegranate, apple, orange (12% each). is mainly due poor quality water used dilution well prevailing unhygienic conditions related washing utensils, contaminated ice, personal domestic hygiene, peeling fruits before hand, shop crowed place, dust particles evening maintains premises. location side busy road heavy vehicular traffic (airborne particles) or waste disposal system over crowding seems add contamination. However Health education vendors implementation standard hygienic practices may reduce juices. Regular monitoring must be introduced avoid any future outbreak.
