摘要: In situ denitrification walls and biofilters made of wood chips are being implemented as innovative technologies for the removal nitrates in tile drainage water from farms to reduce pollution surface waters hypoxia problem Gulf Mexico. Although fairly effective removing nitrates, not much is known about effectiveness herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics water. Using weathered obtained an wall, four common pollutants tested sorbed strongly following order: enrofloxacin > monensin A atrazine sulfamethazine. Of chemicals tested, was found desorb least by extraction. The apparent hysteresis index be lower than that sulfamethazine indicating greater sorption–desorption Consecutive steps desorption organic solvent extraction indicated more 65% atrazine, 70% sulfamethazine, 90% enrofloxacin, 80% were retained chips. Results this study showed chip or have added benefit retaining herbicides therefore can act a barrier groundwater.
