摘要: The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact homophily on diffusion over social networks. An agent-based simulation model developed serve as experimental ground for analysis. Diffusion dynamics a nonsticky innovation investigated by varying levels in network depicted primary control variable. First all, results show that self-reinforcing. Second, starting from nonhomophilous network, early increases level have positive effect extent diffusion, whereas further negative impact. Finally, several local minima and maxima are observed relation between diffusion. Our analysis focuses node properties such connectedness average degrees order explain regular relationship We argue (i) different status groups separately (ii) increasing decreases marginal importance single homophilous tie sources valuable information. Future research involves investigating coevolution behavior networks allowing adopted lead value homophily, exploration initiation types, adoption heuristics.
