摘要: The Himalayan glaciers, being unique in nature, need more detailed study over their evolution the glacial zones. A methodology has been developed using two-dimensional signatures from synthetic aperture radar SAR C-band dual-polarized data. linear decision rule-based model generated and result further filtered by use of a digital elevation DEM to delineate zones Himalayas. advantage cross-polarized data is addition extra information volume mass. Some important prerequisites for analysis are image ortho-rectification calibration, glacier boundary delineation, development sites collecting backscattering glaciers along profile. deals with snow cover zones/facies region under subtropical humid climate ablation accumulation season. images 15 July 2012 30 June 2013 Gangotri Mana were evaluated model. identification superimposed zone during season among key results. identified snowlines other boundaries facies studied on temporal scale. highest snowline altitude was recorded at 5768 5194 m 2012. also identifying buried winter cover. results obtained useful regard glaciological studies glaciers.
