Generation of the energetic proton and electron bursts in planetary magnetotails

摘要: The paper deals with the unified model of particle acceleration (both electrons and protons) in planetary magnetotail due to explosive spontaneous reconnection. It is shown that inductive electric field able generate energetic bursts. proposed mechanism accelerates both species up MeV energies Earth's magnetosphere (but electron flux much lower than proton flux) vice versa (practically only electrons) case compact Mercury. theory conforms experimental data obtained thus far terrestrial Hermean magnetotails.
