摘要: Space use and diets of sympatric bobcats Lynx rufus pumas Puma concolor were compared using sign surveys scat analysis during 1997–2002 in south-eastern Arizona, USA. Bobcats appeared to grassland, scrub, riparian woodland habitats equally, but had higher activity habitats. There was little evidence that avoided space use. ate primarily rodents (33% items scats), lagomorphs (32%) ungulates (16%), whereas (69%) carnivores (21%). Pumas a narrower dietary niche breadth than bobcats, puma diet overlapped bobcat by 56%, suggesting may be more vulnerable changes prey density bobcats. also killed consumed indicating interference competition manifesting through intraguild predation.
